  • Cleaning/Feeding VentureShield Clearbra

    Hi,

I was wondering if anyone had experience using NXT 2.0 Tech Wax (which I think is technically a sealant) and a VentureShield Clearbra.

If so, let me know how it went!

Also, any good tips for cleaning/caring for the clearbra are appreciated. Right now I just wash normally and use Plexus - I have not tried waxing/polishing the clear bra yet.

Oh ya, just wanted to mention...my motivation for wanting to use NXT 2.0 is that I notice that the shine from Plexus on the vinyl vs NXT 2.0 on the paint is not 100% seamless.

Although, I don't even know if NXT 2.0 on paint vs the clearbra is going to match either - I figured I would give it a try if other users had some success.

I have the Venture Shield on my black daily driver with 40,000 miles on it in 18 months, been on since the car was new.

I have been treating it just like paint, I am careful around it, but it gets the DA run across it with #9 then NXT along with the rest of the car. It looks great and I haven't seen any "ill effects".
I use ONR to wash and follow up with Last Touch, just like the rest of the car.

The plexus works great and was recommended by the guy that installed mine, but it's expensive. So I use the plexus mainly on interior plastic and gauges for a quick wipe down.

One tip on the Venture Sheild. Before you start waxing the car, put a line of blue painters tape along the edges that you don't want wax to get caught in. I don't care what they say, you'll never get all the wax back out and it will look bad.

Thanks for the tip - I think I will try NXT 2.0 by hand next time I detail the car - I am not up for trying out the DA on it :-)

Better safe than sorry, do what makes you comfortable. But don't forget to tape it off before you wax, I use 1/2" blue painters tape and "stradle" the edge of the clear bra along the hood and front fenders. When you take the tape off you'll have some wax residue where the edges were - just hit it with a detail spray on a microfiber and it will come right off.

Ya, I will tape off the edges- thanks! I've only done our cars 2x with the DA polisher so maybe after I'm more experienced I will give it a go.
