  • M205 holograms

    Hello

is it possible for the g220 with the new softfoam finishing pad and m21 sealant to indulge holograms to a BMW -09 dark blue car??

I washed it good totalt clean. Then i vaxed it as described above and removed with microfiber arter 20minutes.

And i today discovered holograms in the sunlight.

The thing is i had holograms before but à detailershop removed them for me and i couldnt ser them so i figure they have removed them.

But now i wonder if the m21 has unveiled them again and wonder if the detailer only hide them??

    Any ansedds to this??

Try using a QD, it may only be smeared residue. If that doesn't work, try a mild/ finishing paint cleaner and see if this removes them.

      Re: M205 holograms

Can you provide some pictures of these holograms for us? True holograms will not be instilled with a G220 and M21 on a finishing pad, but a slightly heavy application of product that is not allowed to fully dry may reveal some light streaking that can give the appearance of a very light hologram. But true, heavy holograms? No way.

It is very possible that the detail shop you used did nothing more than conceal the holograms previously. As that product application slowly degraded and you then put a machine to the surface, you may well have removed what little bit remained. This sure wouldn't be the first time we've seen this happen.

Also, have you checked to see if the "holograms" are actually trace amounts of smeared product? Many times I have seen wax prematurely (or not completely) removed leave behind a pattern very much like holograms. Try cleaning an area with water and a microfiber very gently.

I also believe, like Michael Stoops suggested, that there is a good chance they have been there all along but were potentially concealed.

Ok i Will try to wash the car with some nxt schampo and dry it with the water magnet. Maybe follow with m135 qd and see if the holograms were just lef overed vax rest. If so did i use too much vax? When vaxing with g220 should the pad rotate or is it ok with the shaking part? I found it hard to keep it rotating at all Times.

And when the spring comes i Will do à fulll detail with some m205 and polishpad on Rotary. That should take out any remaining real holograms also.

          Thanx alot

            Hey Eric,

It is very important to know that the BMW is notorious for its hard paint. A cleaner/polish that could effectively remove medium swirls and holograms on a Renault or a Vauxhall may be completely ineffective on a BMW.

It is somewhat likely that the detailershop you previously visited used a medium cleaner in an attempt to remove the swirls or holograms on your car. Due to the amount of work associated with using an aggressive cleaner or compound, they probably avoided it. Paul Dalton charges a minimum of 500 Euros for complete micro-marring and hologram removal.

              Re: M205 holograms

So, i have not had time to wash my car again yet, but i doo think that i may have had som trouble getting it all off when i wiped the car.

i let the m21 2.0 sit for about 20 min and then i uset 1 microfiber towel all around the car..

when i touch the paint it feels a little bit greasy still. maybe the vax it self is causing the holograms?

ill try washing as soon as i can with the xt schampo and the drying the car with ur watermagnet towel (amazing btw).

if that doesnt do the trick and it hapens to be so that the detailer shop didnt get out the holograms and the first place. will the 205 with a polishing pad and G220 get the holograms gone for good on my bmw ? or do i have to go with M105 first?

Whats the bullet proof way to get rid of holograms???

                Re: M205 holograms

So now i have washed the car with nxt schampo and dried it with the water magnet towel.
And when it was dried i couldnt feel any left over vax or something, the surface was streak clean.

unfortunately it started raining so i haven had a chance to see if the "holograms" dissapeared or if they are still there.

Is there any magic way to see if there is holograms inside the garage?
I only tend to see them out in the sun light.

Well, hats of for the M21 2.0 sealant anyway, waterbeading is incredible, not much water to dry of the car after the wash.

But hos well does it stack upp against a alkaline degreasing ?

                Sincere
