  • How to remove this type of bird drop etching?

    I tried doing a search, so if I missed something, then sorry about that.

    the one thread I saw mentioning specifically how to remove bird etchings, talked about how to remove one like this.



    unfortunately, mine doesn't look like that, it looks like this.



    now before I go out and buy UC or one of those products, is it possible to remove one like that using any type of compound? are they both the same deepness into the clear coat? I asked a local detailer about it before, and he insisted that it could only be removed by wet sanding or something that drastic.

    With the excellent photo you took, I must sadly say that the "crow's feet" problem there typically can't be removed. What you are seeing are actual cracks in the paint itself.

    Now, that said, it's possible usually to significantly lessen the appearance and Ultimate Compound would do the trick. It would help with those swirls, too.
