  • Pls Confirm: is there significant polish/glaze in SwirlX or ScratchX2

    A question for Meguiars:
The Meguiars online product descriptions are usually vague about what is in the different consumer products and what combinations are typically appropriate (other than the DC1+DC2+DC3). It seems clear that the old (discontinued) DC1 Paint Cleaner was just a cleaner and did not have any significant polish/glaze oils (hence the separate DC2). It also seems clear that ColorX is a complete All-In-One cleaner(mild)+glaze+wax combination.

But what about SwirlX? Is it just a cleaner (and hence needs DC2 or M07 for maximum effect) or does it also contain significant glaze/oils.

Similarly, what about ScratchX2.0? Is it just a cleaner or does it contain significant glaze/oils.

It used to be clear that the consumer-oriented seasonal detail was wash+clay+DC1+DC2+DC3(or NXT2.0 etc), but with DC1 being discontinued and replaced with SwirlX it is not clear if the DC2/M07 step is still needed or is already included in SwirlX.

ScratchX 2.0 does not contain much at all in the way of polishing oils, but SwirlX certainly does. On a modern clear coat finish you may not need a dedicated pure polish step, which we always consider to be optional (especially on these paints) anyway. Of course, there's nothing stopping you if you want to take that extra step.

Sorry to hijack this thread; but is there a consumer product that is a pure polish these days now that DC2 is being discontinued?

If no, which consumer product has the most polishing oils? You mentioned SwirlX, but my bottle is rather "chunky" or thick, I can't see it having much oils at all...

DC2 has NOT been discontinued, only Deep Crystal Paint Cleaner has been. Deep Crystal Polish and Deep Crystal Carnauba Wax still exist, we've just dropped the "Step 2" and "Step 3" from the label.

Show Car Glaze outshines all other hand applied polishes, glazes, waxes and sealants. Restores a dazzling, deep, wet shine. Show Car Glaze does not dry white and is safe and effective on all paint finishes.

Ah I see, I might pick up some DC polish then. My M07 is really hard to remove here in AZ, I think it dries too fast.

Then try #5. it's a lot thinner than #7 and works just as well. Meg's has 20% off it's entire inventory for email subscribers.
