  • DA SwirlX Help

This is the first time I have applied SwirlX with my Porter Cable Polisher. This pic is my third 16x16 area on the hood, which I broke into 9 areas. I used the "clean on the fly" with a terry cloth being held by hand up to the moving pad. I did this method after both of the prior sections. When on this section the PC started throwing off little bits of product all over the place when I switched to speed 5 (see pic). Is this normal with SwirlX? Am I doing something wrong? Too much product? Too little product? Also it is about 45-50 degrees F in my garage, could that have something to do with it? Thanks

SwirlX does get a bit chunky and powdery. It's normal... Possibly too much product.

Thanks for the reassurance. Should I consider misting the pad with QD or a pad conditioner to help with the "chunky and powdery"?

Don't mist the pad. If you do it will get worse.
Just continue cleaning the pad on the fly and switch to a new pad often also.

Sometimes, not only on SwirlX but on other products this could happen, try using a little less product, see if improvement on this issue gets better, but this problem is not a big deal.

Generally with SwirlX you can get away with a bit less product that with some of our more traditional products - M80/M83 for example.

But your bigger problem most likely is temperature. We recommend a minimum temp of about 55F when using liquid paint care products - they tend to perform differently (and not in a good way) when temps dip much below that.

You probably really should wait for it to warm up a bit.

Well that could be, like, March. Guess I'll start looking for a garage heater! Needed an excuse anyway.
