  • cure time for UQW

My apologies but i wasnt able to find it with the search.

    Does UQW need to cure?

    I do this:
    Spray it on the car
apply it with a microfiber pad
immediately wipe it off with a MF

    does it need to dry?

i was going to post the same thing cause i hear some people say to spray on spread and wipe off on panel at a time and others say to spray spread it on the whole car and then wipe off

To me it is a wipe on, wipe off product. So I wipe it on a panel, wipe off. No cure time for me.

It certainly seems to leave something on the paint either way. But I am sure you would be guaranteeing better protection left behind if it sat for a moment.

              Re: cure time for UQW

I have applied UQW both ways--wipe one/wipe off, one panel at a time, and wipe-on the entire car and then wipe off. Both seem to work just fine, though I experienced streaking one one occasion using the latter technique. I probably applied too much of the UQW.

The directions on the bottle actually seem to recommend the WOWO technique, though Mike P. and others appear to recommend the wipe on and allow to dry technique. As Mat suggests, you will probably get better durability if you do the latter--at least that is my uneducated guess. I think I personally prefer WOWO, though.

ok fair enough. Apply it to the whole car and then wipe off. Fair enough. Honestly it makes no perceivable difference to me and I think thats the beauty of the product.

I do however wish there wasnt this discrepancy between the products label and the suggested useage. Ambiguity is annoying!

Honestly, it can be used either way with great effect. If you've seen the videos of the Ford logo we did with UQW, or even the Meguiar's logo in the UQW TV commercial, then you see how effectively this product sheds water even when used with a WOWO process - that's how we did those.

Further, while the bottle does not specifically state that it can be used as a "wax while you dry" product, many here have done just that and reported excellent results.

i have it tried it both ways, and i honestly cannot see any difference...both ways shed water like crazy and leave the finish smooth as butter...i just spray on, spread arouind, wipe off. its faster too
