  • My stubborn Brake Dust..!!

okay.. so i bought these wheels used a couple of months ago and they were really clean except for the inside barrel being caked on for who knows how long with repetetive brake dust over time.. i didn't have time to clean them before i put them on because i had sold my stock wheels already and needed to put them on asap...

anyhow.. i knew it would take time but what the heck.. i am not working anyway.. i took off one wheel aday and proceeded in cleaning them thoroughly, one a day... about 2-3 hrs..

    what the wheels are..?

3-piece aluminum 20" wheels with a 3" lip in front and 5" lip in rear..
the face of the wheel is brushed aluminum witha clearcoat..
the lips of the wheels are chrome plated
    the rivets are stainless steel..
the inner barrel is just plain old unprotected aluminum... i think..

    what i used..?

    Hot Rims Aluminum Wheel Cleaner
    eagle one non wadding polish..
    mothers polish
    dishwash/dishpan scrubber with handle
yellow sponge with green agitator side
small high quality paint brush for rivets
    lambswool washmitt
    zaino z6 detail spray..

it took a long time and i was not able to get alllllllllll of the brake dust off... i got off about 95%... unless i took apart the 3piece wheel, there is no way to get it all off and around the bolts and rivets...

    pix...before..

    and after....

    the face of the wheel....

    wut u guys think...?
