  • UQD or UQW????

Okay, I'll start from the beginning here. At the end of November I washed, clayed, swirlx'd, polished, and waxed (NXT 2.0 then M16 one coat of each followed by UQD) my car for the winter. I wash and ONR and UQD it almost every weekend.

So, today since it was really nice (45 degrees) I washed it normally outside. I was about to apply my UQD when I thought that maybe it would be better to put some UQW to boost the protection throughout the winter. I will wax it again if I have to but I would prefer not to have to tape it off and all this weekend since I'm short on time.

So any suggestions on which way to go? Any tips to using the UQW if that's what you guys suggest?

    Thanks
    Andy

    Yeah, UQW would be perfect.

Just spray on a MF cloth to get it damp, and wipe around. You really want to apply it so thin you cant really see it. Then come back around with a dry cloth.

By all means, go with the UQW. I too am using it to supplement the wax protection of my car this winter. UQW really is a fine product. As Mat recommends, dampen your microfiber towel (first fold the towel into quarters) and then mist the UQW on the panel. Don't mist on too much (you'll quickly get the hang of it). Gently spread the wax over the panel, and then turn over the towel and wipe off. It's as easy as that.

Let us know how it goes and how you like the product.

      Cheers,
      Al

It's a great product, the key is mist the product into a microfiber towel and spread it. Use a clean microfiber to wipe it dry.

Check this link out. Maybe this can clear some questions up.

          Re: UQD or UQW????

Thanks guys! I followed your advice and it turned out great!!! I used way too much though. I guess I'm so used to seeing a thin film on the car that I felt like I wasn't using enough and added some more. It also felt weird going around the whole car again with a dry towel. I was freaked that buffing the stuff off would leave swirls, but I pulled it out when I was done and I didn't see any at all.

Some of these new products feel really different than what I'm used to using. It took me a while to get the nerve up to use ONR but now I LOVE IT!

Al, I'm like you. I try to keep my car as nice as I can to the best of my ability. I love getting compliments on it even though it is just a Vue.

The only downside to UQW that I could see is that I have now become addicted to it and I need more...

Al and Mat, thanks again for your great advice. I have learned a lot of new things by following your posts.

Yeah, I felt that way at first, but even though I couldnt see it, I could definatly feel the surface change.

I really like the Ultimate Wipes for a final wipedown.
