  • DC2 vs MG80

    Hi!

After a paint correction with ultimate compound and DA, what should i use to get the best glossy shine before waxing?
    MG80 or DC2?

    Thanks

Either of those would be good choices, but the M80 is a cleaner polish while DC2 is a pure polish so the DC2 might be the better choice overall.

If you really wanna go nutso, do a final pass or two with your DA and M205. Follow up with either #7 or #5. Add two coats of NXT2.0 and finish it all off with a pure carnauba. You won't wanna even take it out of the garage, but it'll sure look dynamite!

since UC is an aggressive product
using #80 after it might help make the finish a little better.
and it has lots of polishing oils in it also

That was my point also. I've never used UC, but can UC really deliver an LSP ready finish? Seems pretty aggressive even with a 9207 I would suspect? Dunno. Maybe not...

I have seen Ultimate Compound finish out LSP ready and then there were other times where I had to follow up with M205 since UC did not finish out LSP ready. Sometimes I follow up with M66 instead of M205.

It really comes down to the paint, you just have to be sure to do a test spot. Keep in mind Ultimate Compound is no slouch and is pretty aggressive.

Maybe i need to do some tests first, with both producys.
But you are saying that MG80 can smooth over UC, make the finish a little better?
I am planning to use Swissvax cleaner fluid and a wax from SV also.

M80 can be a great follow up product to UC if you find you need such a follow up. It has light cleaning ability but is very rich in polishing oils, so it tends to enhance the overall gloss and depth to the paint.
