  • polycharging uqw?

so i have yet to get an answer. lynn matthews from autopia could not answer this one, nor her chemist. mike phillips from autogeek could not answer this one, so the question still lies.... can you polycharge the meguiars ultimate quick wax? if so, the big question is, ch2 or h20 polycharger?

i polycharge meguiars uqd with h20 polycharger and it is quite amazing, but the question i need answered is which one to use for the meguiars uqw?

    thanks in advance.

You won't be able to find an answer because Meguiar's doesn't make the polycharging product. In other words, they only thoroughly test their own products to give formal answers, and wouldn't have tested that.

You can always try it... worst case you waste a little UQW.

Out of curiosity, what are you seeing that's so impressive or different when doing this to UQW? How differently does the product perform for you?

As Mark said, we have not tested our products with the Polycharger supplement so we can not make a recommendation for their use.

i did half of my car with just the standard uqd and then the other half mixed with the proper amount of poly to oz. comparison w/another bottle of uqd, not only was the gloss and depth greater but the slickness was better and beading was great too. in a nutshell, i love meguiars, always have, always will, but the poly is definetly the cherry to top the cake, well for me atleast.

sorry, i read your question wrong, :

have never done it with uqw thus the reason for asking. i am truly amazed in uqw's ability by itself. it's a pretty impressive product and i hope to see it on the shelves for years to come. best part is that it is a mist and wipe product and does not dust.

I'd suggest you try Polycharger H2O as UQW is still a water-based product. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

^^^^your right. still weary if it isn't mostly waterbased then the 2 products would seperate.

Aren't you only supposed to mix a small amount of the two things at once anyways?

no. h20'a mixing shelf life is as long as it's qd'er it's mixed with. now ch2, then you would be correct. it should only be mixed within 48 hours of applying the product.

Maybe just get one of those little 4 oz spray bottles and mix up a sample batch first then.

                        Re: polycharging uqw?

don't polycharge anything. It makes the product have less durability unless that's what you want. Take almost any car wax or sealant and polycharge it, it will not last as long as the regular product you added it to.

contrare my friend. i beg to differ. i have done panel tests using productx vs. product x polycharged and have seen the polycharged panels hold up several weeks longer. this is through washes, rain, snow, heat etc. i guess to each their own but i will continue to buy polycharger.

sorry to hear your experience was not so pleasant. maybe you over mixed the product?

One thing your defiantly right about is " to each their own". If you find something you like, well that’s what it’s all about. Right? I think Mike Phillips has a little saying about that....

Anyway, With the Meguiar’s products that I use, I probably don’t even get the total use of the products longevity. Whether I’m just washing/maintaining, waxing or full detail with clay and paint correction. I know that I was still getting good looks and protection from my previous labors. So, for me using a Polycharger additive would be just a waste of money, like most boutique waxes I have to look at the point of diminishing returns.

                              Just my 2 cents......
