  • Gold Class versus NXT Tech 2.0

Hi, I'm Jeff and new to the forum. I've done some searching and haven't found the answer to a question I have, so I hope I'm not double posting this, but, I want to know the difference's in the Gold Class wax and the NXT 2.0 wax. I looked at both at Walmart. I'm guessing the 2.0 is better than the Gold Class because it is $6 more, but I don't know that for sure. Tell me what you know about both so I can make an informed purchase.

    Thanks

Never tried NXT, but have used Gold Class for a while and like it. Some peeps really like the NXT. I believe the NXT is synthetic, therefore, should last longer than Gold Class.

The NXT is more of a paint sealant. Both are very nice products, though.

Re: Gold Class versus NXT Tech 2.0

Gold Class is our premium carnauba blend product, NXT 2.0 is a fully synthetic product. As such, NXT is our best protecting, longest lasting product. If you wax your car every couple of months like a lot of people here do, then longevity may not be your greatest concern.

Many people will tell you that carnaubas and synthetics look different, and some will even say they prefer the look of one over the other on certain colors. Still others will talk about how they love to lay down a synthetic first, then top it with a carnauba. Bottom line - prepare the paint properly with a good clay treatment and a paint cleaner, then choose the wax that best fits your goals of appearance, longevity and cost, and stick with it.

Both are excellent products. I use them both. However, I have a little more passion about the Gold Class. That is the product that got me started on Meguiar's.

            Hi,

I use NXT2.0 on my metalic silver Honda and am very happy. Both NXT2.0 and GC (my friend uses GC) are fab products. Nothing wrong with trying out one product and when that if finished, try the other. Best of both worlds.

I think GC is a little easier to work with because it will dry faster than NXT. With NXT, you have to wait about 20 minutes and then do a "swipe" test to make sure it's dry before removing. Don't know if it's the humidity here or what, but 20 minutes is rarely long enough for it to dry here in FL.

You can always buy both, try them out to see which one you like better and then return the one you don't like. I remember former Meguiar's great, Mike Phillips, replying to a few posts that Meguiar's will fully refund you $$ if you don't like the product. ASAIF, that offer still stands.
Too much of a good thing is even better!
