  • Optimum no-rinse experience

Tried ONR today for the first time on my wife's 10 year-old Volvo. Didn't follow exact instructions (1 oz per 3 gal of water) but got good results. Windows were especially clean and dried without any film. Washed one section at a time and wiped dry. Time to wash was reduced from using a traditional car soap and rinsing with a hose.

However, there was significantly more transfer of dirt to the washing mitt. I replaced my rinse water bucket three times as it got very dirty and had to refill my wash bucket once.

Anyone have similar experience with the transfer of dirt?

That is a normal occurrence with ONR. ONR traps and encapsulates the dirt so it's nothing to worry about. You also shouldn't have to refill the solution. It will look dirty but it is perfectly fine and safe. ONR is recommended to use used with one bucket only but using a the 2BM doesnt hurt.

Here is a short thread that touches a little but on the 1 vs 2 bucket and the user "DavidG" is the owner/chemist of Optimum

I have spent the last two months demolishing and rebuilding the deck at the back of my house. Finally, after waiting several weeks, I finally got the proper weather and temperatures to put sealant on it. My problem is that, although my drive-to-work-beater was parked 50+ feet away AND around...

I have experienced the same things. The only thing different I do is use the two bucket method.

I really like ONR. It is a definite time saver. My 12 year old son even likes it. I washed caars in my garage with ONR all winter and he asked if we could keep using it in the summer because it makes washing easier.
