So I recently detailed a red 2006 Mustang GT, but only had time to clay, UC, and do one coat of NXT. The same Mustang will be in a car show on May 1st, and I'm going to detail it again the day before. I want to do an app of M07. Can I just apply it, as the car sits today (after a wash of course), or do I have to remove the previous coat of NXT.... and if I have to remove the NXT coat, just wash with Dawn or should I go back over it with some sort of cleaner to remove the wax?

#7 after waxing?

Re: #7 after waxing?
I've done this for years with my MR2. #7 just before a show on top of the sealant or wax leaves a dripping wet look. It won't last more than a few days but shows very well. Typically I would reapply a LSP after the show. No need to remove anything.Jim

Re: #7 after waxing?
Do not use Dawn thats for sure. You can put the polish on after the wax, it might not even show any difference, when I had my show car, I would put M7 on after wax just for the show it would help add a little extra shine to it. It will not last long though being on top of the wax. If your going to detail it again I would put the polish on then seal it in with wax. Then put another coat of M7 on.

Re: #7 after waxing?
My understanding is that for true show cars, which are mainly kept indoors and brought outside just for the shows, protectants (whether carnaubas or synthetic sealants) are omitted altogether and that glazes, like M07 (what Meguiar's calls "pure polishes"), are used exclusively.Swirls hide in the black molecular depths, only waiting for the right time to emerge and destroy your sanity.
