  • want to detail the SUV

    Hello to everyone on board,

have a black suv. want to detail it.

I have used other products and other Meguiars stuff in the past and a friend just recently told me about Ultimate Compound, M105 and M205 and some other new stuff like Swirl X.

What i was wondering, since I've used M80 and M83 before how would the wash be.

Wash/Clay/Ultimate Compound - then what do I follow it with.

I know from reading least aggressive product. So what would I follow it with?

Or if i did wash/clay/m105 would i go m205 and then my wax of choice?

    please help.

Re: want to detail the SUV

I would start with the least agressive method first...
Wash/Clay/swirlX....if swirlX doesnt work then try UC...and then follow by ur wax of choice...if UC causes the paint to be "unclear" follow up with some M205 on a finishing pad then apply ur wax..

Re: want to detail the SUV

Can you use M80 instead of M205?

And, do you have to use the new pads 2.0 or can you use the older pads say 8007's/9007's or do you have to use the 8207 etc.?

Wash/Clay/Swirl-X or Ultimate Compound/ then possibly M205 or M80 then wax?

      is this correct.

yes. ur last process is correct..but if you use swirlx u might not need M205/80..and about pads..IDK, cause i use LC pads, not Meguiars....

I agree with your last process. You can use the older Meguiar's pads. Should not be any problem.

Yeah Swirlx alreayd has some polishing oils in it as it is a cleaner polish. M80 though is the richest in polishing oils of the cleaner polishes and it would only add shine and depth. Try a test spot and compare Swirlx vs Swirlx+M80.

              okay thanks.

              wash/clay/105/205/wax is correct.

              wash/clay/swirlx/wax

              wash/clay/ultimate compound/m80/wax

              this are all correct.

i have the old pads of Megs. are they new 2.0 pads really needed.

              thanks

Re: want to detail the SUV

Yes, any and all of the three scenarios you outlined are fine, and using our earlier generation pads with any of them is also fine.
