Re: quick question about opti seal and #7 glaze

I have never tried Opti-Seal over #7, but given what I have read about how it works, it should work just fine. Over at the Optimum forum, Dr G explained that it's just fine to apply Opti-Seal over a carnauba wax, because OS migrates to the bottom and "displaces" the carnauba wax. I imagine that the same thing would occur, might occur, if OS is applied over #7. There's only one way to find out. Give it a try and see what happens.

If that's true, then it sounds as though you would lose any benefit of the M07 once the Opti-Seal "displaced it" and migrated to the bottom.

We hate to say it, but have you tried contacting Opti-Seal? This is a question more directly related to their product and not a Meguiar's product. We can't make definitive recommendations for proper use of a competitors product, nor are we aware of all possible compatibility issues between competing product lines.

My "guess" is that since Opti-Seal is a synthetic sealant and so is Nxt 2.0 or M21, it would behave similarly, but as Michael said, we can't predict 100%. My recommendation, do a test spot, try it with and without the #7, and see if the #7 gives you the improvement you would want it to.

By the way, Optimum doesn't even know what #7 is. They seem to think it is a car wax. Seems like this is the second time I have seen a comparison being made between a competitor's wax and #7. See the pictures at the bottom of this write-up.
