i have a silver 04 grand am gt. i just though i would wash the car once a week and wax it once a month. i have gold class shampoo and conditioner and the old gold class wax. i got a thing of nxt tech wax for christmas but i want to return it for the new gold class if its different from the old stuff. what else should i do to it (polish/clay bar/scratch x) and what products should i use that work the best. also my car sits outside. thanks for the help.

If you really like the Gold Class the best over NXT then return it, but if you haven't tried the NXT yet and think it might not be so great, just give it a try. You'll probably be very surprised.

I think you might like the NXT over the gold class, I'd suggest giving it a try.
      I want 4" Softbuff pads!

If you never clayed you car, you should go for that. Meguiar's clay is priced right and a decent size bar. Keep the clay and car wet at all times to avoid a mess. As for NXT, go with what works for you but NXT is the only Meguiars wax I would use on my cars, otherwise I would use a different brand. As far as polish, I never got good results by hand. If you willing to invest in a buffer, be it DA like the G-100 or Porter Cable, or rotary like the Makita and learn how to use it properly, you will get great results. I use #83 DA polish with the Meguiars yellow pad and it works well for a mild abrasive. Check the G-100 or Rotary forums here or Autopia.org for some tips on how to use those.

          Hi zach04gagt,

          Welcome to Meguiar's Online!

Besides all the good advice already posted, I would seriously look at adding a Grit Guard Insert to your arsenal of detailing tools.

And perhaps some of our new tools for washing and drying your car as they become available in the first part of next year.

            Hey,

I agree with the others. I know you will love the gloss, warmth and depth NXT Tech Wax will give to your paint!!
