What's the best metal polish to clean chrome stainless steel exhaust tips? I have the mag and aluminum polish but it doesn't seem to work that well. Any suggestions?

You were applying with terry? Getting some black soot off?

Yes, was applying with terry cloth and it was turning black somewhat. I was wondering if NXT metal polysh would work any better?

Mag and Aluminum Polish isn't aggressive enough for neglected stainless steel. Aluminum is a much softer metal than steel.

Instead of using a terry cloth applicator, a lot of people have had superb results using metal polish with steel wool. NXT Metal Polish is a great polish. Couple it with fine steel wool and you'll probably start seeing the results you're after.

Nxt is milder than M&A, so doubt it would be a big increase.

Not sure about using the steel wool on chrome, might want to have someone who knows more chime in on that. Can always look into something like the Powerballs to help.

Yeah, your exhaust tips are not "chrome." They are most likely Polished Aluminum or Stainless Steel. If your applicator did turn black than I recommend some:

Something I found that works well for exhaust tips...and you'll find it where the kitchen cleaner products are. It's called Cameo, and it's a powder that you dampen with water to use on stainless steel and aluminum. Best to mix a small amount with water into a paste, then work into your surface with a damp rag.
