Any standard dual halogen work-light on a stand.
There is no specific brand that everybody is using (unlike the Brinkmann handheld spotlight). You can find them at Home Depot etc.

I got my dual 1000w halogen at home depot on sale for 25 bucks. Works great as a stationary work light.

I also have the 1000 watt. I agree, it produces a tremendous amount of heat.

Yep, it definitely puts out some heat.

Do you use the light outside at night? seems like bugs would be a pain.

I don't really do much detailing outside at night.

I know mine I usually use for inspection, but rarely detail from it because of the heat, as I don't have a lot of room in my garage.

I think we're referring to the fact that it gets hot to work around, not a problem regarding actually burning yourself touching it.

                        I could be wrong though.

Your neighbors might think you are on crank if you're out at 12:00 at night detailing your car
