  • New to this site!

I have a 2001 Jeep Grand Cherokee, that has a blue metallic finish.
As most vechicles in Texas the finish is oxidized. I have an orbital polisher
and what to know what products would be recommeded to restore the finish. The clear coat looks okay (i.e. not chippibg, etc.) I don't mind a little elbow grease, but not sure where to start, can anybody help me?

    Thanks...

Hello Richard, Welcome to Meguiars Online!
I would start with Color X, but your product choice depends on how bad the oxidation is, go with Ultimate Compound if Color X doesn't work.

Also, Pictures would help everybody in helping you in deciding what products to use

      First Welcome to Meguiar's!

I see you mention an orbital polisher. If it's the one I'm thinking of it may not be suitable for paint correction and you'll probablt need something a bit more robust like a DA polisher found here.

This is a generic order of attack and Meguiar's offers an extensive line supporting each step.

      Wash
      Clay
      Paint correct
      Polish
      Seal
      Wax
      BobbyG

what kind of polisher are you using? Some polishers are to weak to correct anything and your better off doing it by hand. This video is a great example of what Color X is capable of, they used a rotary but you should get the same results by hand with a lot of passion.
