  • #80 and then #26 ok??

    Hello everyone.
Im new here, I just used the #80 on my black Chevy Silverado, I was able to get most of the paint damages fixed. After the #80 I used #26 but now the black color has not the deep black shine (wet look) as I wanted it to have. It has kinda milky appearance.
Was it wrong to use the #26 after the #80?
    Thanks

We are going to need pics in order to diagnose this. It's a bit vague without them.

Pics are needed. Your process sounds fine.

Here are the pics. I also took a picture of the buffer I used, i think its called orbital buffer, I used micofiber pads on it. Could that be the problem?

just added the pictures to my gallery, wanted to insert the pictures in this thread, but it said it has to get aproved by a mod first.
Is it ok to use a orbital buffer with microfiber pads?

To apply the wax, yes. Most orbitals do not have enough power to do any paint correction.

Thanks to the one that moved my pics in here.
The Truck shines nice in the daylight, but I just discovered some scratches, swirl marks with a closer look at my roof.
How can I fix it along with the milky look mentioned above and what caused it?
                Thanks Rolf

The microfiber pad might be the problem. You have a ton fof swirling in the roof. I would say to either invest in a DA with some pads: http://www.autodetailingsolutions.ne...-pack-kit.html. 4 yellow and 2 balck would be good to start with.

If a DA is out of the question then I would either find a foam pad that fits your orbital or buy some foam applicators from the same site as above: http://www.autodetailingsolutions.net/x3070.html. Then, find some Swirlx and Ultimate Compound and go at these swirls by hand. It will take a long time but you will get good results. Do a test spot with Swirlx first though and see if it strong enough to remove all those swirls. If it is then continue doing small sections (12" X 12" or less) until you have completed everything you wanted.

If the whole truck looks like this then I would say to a do a panel a day. That doesn't mean do a panel every day but when you get some time, do one panel each day you have time. This way, you can take your time and ensure you are achieving great results.

woops, just saw you're from switzerland. Try and find any kind of foam pad and use the M80 by hand with the same process if you cannot find a compatible foam pad for the orbital.

Thanks for the advise, would a rotary do the job as well?
We have a rotary buffer at te shop, I just have to order the right pads and the ultimate compound. Luckily we have a Meguiars dealer here in Switzerland...
Thats an awesome deal on the DA, to bad we have a 220V powersupply and not 110V.
