I was watching some youtube videos and i saw how after the guy finished working in the M105, he said to switch to a finishing pad and work in the remaining residue. Now, I know that M105 doesn't "shine" like M205 but, would UC have the same benefits in terms of shining like the M105?

Re: M105 Shine? vs. UC Shine?
Can you give use the link? I would like to see what exactly is being said.
But, take a look at this article: http://meguiarsonline.com/forums/sho...nishing+polish. It is possible to use it as a finishing polish but it takes a lot of skill.Tedrow's Detailing

Re: M105 Shine? vs. UC Shine?
As a rule, compounds are best for removing wetsanding marks or serious swirls, etchings, and holograms, and they usually have to be followed up with a polish application (M205\M80\SwirlX) to remove residual hazing.
But it's hard to generalize how a compound will finish given the condition of the paint it's being applied to. For example, the paint on my 93 Civic responded much better to Ultimate Compound than M105. But on another recent job correcting the thrashed paint on a black Miata (traditionally a soft paint), I was only able to bring about a gloss in the paint only after I went to the most aggressive combo I had (M105 applied via cutting pad).

M105 is turning out to be even more versatile of a product than we ever dreamed!
Yes, there are some out there who have experimented with using the dust residue of M105 as a finishing polish and some people have, in some cases, gotten excellent results. Please keep in mind that this is not a method recommended by Meguiar's, and that if you wish to experiment with using M105 or any other product in some new way, you do so at your own risk.
Guys like Kevin Brown are very well known for their experimentation with products and processes and they've come up with some pretty cool stuff - the KBM probably most notable among them - but if talk to them they'll tell you that plenty of these experiments were one time deals that resulted in either nothing, or just a good laugh.Michael Stoops
