  • Okay to use with DA?

Hey guys, I've got a couple questions before I purchase stuff and go ahead and use it on my car (08 black Civic).

I was planning on using M83 with a W8207 pad followed by M80 or M205 and finishing with some NXT. Are those products okay with a DA? Does M83 work better than SwirlX with a DA? Would this be an okay combination?

Instead of using another "cleaner/polish" should I follow M83 with a Cleaner Wax or Pure Polish? I've heard good things about M07 on dark colors. Thanks in advance for any help

No pics atm but I'll work on getting some up 2moro, but I would say minor-moderate swirls but I also know being a Civic it has soft paint.

If that isn't enough I will bump up to M105 and M205, but I'd like to try something less abrasive then M105 to start. Just wanted to make sure those products listed above all worked okay with a DA or if they were meant for a rotary.

Is M83 then M80 a good combo? Will I need something else before NXT?

They will work... #83 is a little older product, can be a bit tricker by PC.

#83, #80, SwirlX, and #205 are all cleaner/polishes, so no need to follow up. However a pure polish still can add a bit extra on a dark or single stage paint.

#83 and #80 is definately a classic combo.

M80, M83, SwirlX, M205 - all are great on a D/A although M83 will create more dust than any of the others. On a newish Honda we'd suggest starting with SwirlX or M205 and if that isn't getting the job done with a W8207 then step up to Ultimate Compound. It is far more user friendly on a D/A than M105 and is plenty strong. It's what we use in our Saturday Classes and so far it's been up to every challenge we've thrown at it (except for those unbelievable water spots etched into the black Subaru, but they even challanged M105 on a rotary!!).

Hmm, interesting. Isn't a jump from M205 to UC quite large? I thought M83 fell in between them?

What about M07 after either SwirlX/M83/M205? I've heard good things about M07 on dark colors.

Re: Okay to use with DA?

The thing with the older products is that they need worked in all the way.... so a strong product needs worked in well.

The newer products like UC, you can take a strong product, and work it gently for a little bit. So you just need to use it as you need to, nothing more.

#7 would be fine after if you want to try it.
