  • Rock chip repair: paint pen or brush?

I just discovered a small rock chip on my new Mustang. It is not very big but down to the bare metal. Any body have a recommendation of using paint pens versus a brush? I do not plan to do anything other than touch up the spot with paint and clear coat. Then wax of course. Thanks.

Toothpick, and several thin dabs/let dry/dab some more. Not 1 blob.

And like other fresh paint, at least 30 days before waxing.

      +2 for the toothpick method.

Thanks. That sounds even better than pen or brush.

You might try a craft or hobby store and take a look at some of the micro brushes. I like using these brushes under a 10x magnifier if I want to be really detailed.

After using touch up paint to repair chips. Can you run a buffer or DA over it to removes excess touch up paint? I did this for a very light scratched and it came out perfect.
