  • Interiors question

My toyota corolla 98 have the interiors of plastic, some parts of rubber and have fabric seat covers. I use the cheap Stuf Sfuff spray and the Armor all wipes to clean the car. When the car was of my father he only use water because he said that protectants and cleaners have oils that damage the plastic and toast it and crack it with the sun and high temps. 13 years without quemicals, only water, if not, cleaners, then water and the surfaces are in good conditions, the rubber surfaces are more worn because I think the every day use. I still worried about these rubber parts that gets dirty very fast and they like absorb the dirt (are porous). What I can do? Also talking about rubber and plastic the car trims are also very porous I can use a paint cleaner (Only curious) an rub it in some parts of the trim and the MF cloth cames dark!!! (Not recomended can stain trim). I need to polish the trim?

      Re: Interiors question

Not sure what the Stuff-Stuff is?

Well, the longer stains are there, they can become more permanent.

If it were me doing general care for an interior, I would want APC for cleaning, and then a dressing like Natural Shine or Supreme Shine for protecting.

You can wipe down the rubber/plastic/vinyl with the APC, and also do carpets, seats, etc with it also. And a lot of other things.

I am sure there will be a Quick Interior Detailer recommended to you, and it is good for general dusting, but you'll likely need a bit more cleaning from APC and a MF/terry cloth for the dirty stuff.

        Sorry mispelled, is Tuff Stuff

Here in PR we can find it everywhere, is a kind of *cheap* car interior cleaner. Is kind of a cleaner like the Armor all cleaner wipes too but they always leave sticky residues. Tuf Stuff have worked very good on my car floor still is like a mild cleaner.

            Re: Interiors question

I think the correct name is Tuff Stuff. If so, is a foam spray from STP company for cleaning purposes. Normally is indicated for upholstery.

Sorry I found nothing about this product in english.

If you have minimal skills in portuguese here it is:

I used this once in the past and to tell you the truth, it performs a good job only with light dirty.

            Regards!

Take your seat cover off, pre treat it with Shout and chunk it in the Washing Machine

I think I will try that Flash Gordon. Ultimate protectant protects rubber parts from dirt? like wax in the paint? you know the rubber now is like the pencil rubber, it "erase" grease, dirt, etc.. from hands and that dirt gets stucked in the rubber.

I've never used Ultimate Protection. Actually, I like my interiors with just that clean look...no grease

Clean your vinyl with Woolite. Mix 1 part Woolite to 9 parts Water. If you like the greasy look, then I'm sure UP will suit you just fine

                  Good Luck

Up should not look greasy, but I do no know how it feels to touch.

The Natural Shine and Supreme Shine are very dry to the touch.

Good, well if nobody knows about UP being greasy or not i will go then with Natural shine if I find it because UP is more easy to find in Pepboys here.

                          Re: Interiors question

I would not be too worried about UP feeling greasy, but cannot tell you for sure. I imagine the new UP spray should have an even lower chance of being greasy, because less should be applied to the surface.
