  • How to clean M/F pads

First time user of M/F pads and D300/301.
Wow! Outstanding system! What is best way to clean the pads?
I used car shampoo. Is Dawn ok? The D300 pad came back to white but the D301 did not as I'm sure it's because of the wax. Should they be soaked overnight and if so, which cleaner? Thanks Meguiar's for a great system! Also, can they be used immediately after cleaning like the Surbuf pad or must they be completely dry?

    First off, welcome to MOL!!

The microfiber discs can be tossed in the washer and dryer just like you do with your microfiber towels. You're right about the finishing discs not always coming back totally white because of the wax - if the wax were water soluble like the compound it would simply wash off in the first rain.

You can go ahead and use them immediately after cleaning, even if they're still a bit damp. We've tested them in a typical pad washer and even with the amount of moisture picked up there, both liquids still perform as desired.

Just throw them in the washer; I did and they came out fine. The wax pad did not completely clean as expected, but is ready for its next application.

I had the same issue, so I sprayed a little 'Shout!' spot cleaner on the remaining dirt on the pad, and worked it in a bit then washed out with some soap, and ran them through the laundry with my regular soap. No dirty spots, pads are spotless and ready to go next time. Amazing product!
