I need guidance

Heyy guys/gals whats up? I want to purchase a D/A Polisher and pads so I can become a much better detailer. Heres my problem. I dont know what pads to buy, wheres the best place to buy them. I get confused when I read about different backing plates. What are backing plates? Do I need to match the size pad to the same size backing plate? If someone can please point me in the right direction on what to get I would greatly appreciate it. If this helps my spending limit is about $300 bucks

My recommendation would be to get a 6 pack of Soft Buff 2.0 pads, 4 yellow polishing and 2 black finishing and the matching backing plate.

I just bought the Porter Cable 7424XP on Amazon yesterday for $118 shipped.

That leaves you $180 for backing plates and pads, I'l be listening to what advice you get, as I'll be shopping for them as well.
Seems like Lake County and Meguiars pads are two popular ones, Lake County has a wide variety of different ones.

Auto geek.net has 199 deal that comes with pc7424, backing plate, five pads of ur choice, two bonus pads, two mf towels, pad conditioner and cleaner! Bought mines three weeks ago as my starter kit.
