  • Best way to remove daily road grime

I wipe my car down daily and I use a California Duster to remove dust the us Quick Detailer but I notice I get road grime splash marks that are on the left and right door. I would assume this is coming from the front wheels and I know that some people would say to just wash the car but I would need to be washing the car everyday and this is not practical. The grim and can easily wiped of with some water and a Microfiber cloth and that is what I have been doing. I am just curious to find out what others do about these marks from daily driving. I can see by the angle of the grime marks they seem to be coming from the front of the car.

So now I just spray the area with water and wipe off then follow up with QD. I see no other way to remove the marks myself I just want to hear other opinions on this as I am sure we all deal with daily road grime on the paint in some way or another and want to get it off without washing the car daily.

I would just spray the QD directly onto the splash marks and clean them off that way...

Providing of course the car is not too dirty, in which case I would just wash it.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

You can use a waterless wash on those areas with wheel splatter.

Modification in driving technique can also be used to minimize splatter.(like slowing down over waterlogged sections of the road or something)

Never wipe down with just water, it will scratch the finish.
As said, use WW then QD or as I do, UQD, works much better with great results.

Give this article a look - How to maintain your car's finish in-between polishing sessions

That was written back in April of 2008 and the car still hasn't had anything more than a DA application of M205 just to bring up the gloss to it's maximum prior to waxing. It still gets wiped down almost every day (any longer and the dust build up is probably more than I'd like to take off with just UQD/M135 and a few microfibers). The car gets a full wash maybe once a month. But it's always well waxed - except I can't make up my mind if I like it better with NXT, Ultimate Wax, Gold Class, M26, M16 or some combination of those!!
