  • Hi Everyone, Can someone recommend a meguiar's product for clearcoat burn?

Im new to the forums, and goofed tonight trying to fix a scratch.

I love meguiar's products, and read a few articles on here that number 7 would be what I should use for the clearcoat burn I caused.

Is there a method to do this? I scuffed the area with 1000 grit wetsand, and rebuffed with rubbing compound but buffed too much and burned thru.

Any other recommendations for this from you pros? I can include pix if it will help out.

Thanks in advanced to you detailers!

If you did in fact burn through the clearcoat, the only fix is a repaint.

Im sorry to tell you that if you burned through your paint
you will need to add material....
You will need to paint the spot
if theres paint left and no clear coat, prepare the surface for clear coat application...
      any pics?
