  • Can you help me please?

Hi ! Me and my cousin want to begin this detailig thing. We will do it in only our cars and some of our friends cars. Firs we will buy the Meguiars G110v2 Polisher machine. What else we will need for detailng ? For instance one of my friend told me that i should buy the mirror glaze products, like Is it true to buy this products or what can you advise me to buy ? I have 300 $ and the polisher is around 150$ I think.. So I have 150$ for the other products.. What should i buy ? Thank you..

If I was starting out fresh, I think I'd buy the whole Meg's Microfiber DA Correction system, which is about $100.
Finish your cart with some waxes, glass cleaner, protectant, APC, Gold Class wash, water magnets, some microfiber cloths and maybe a couple pads to spread waxes. Read every post you find on this forum and AutoGeek's forum on the new MF system before your first attempt.

Since you're just getting started and on a somewhat limited budget, we'd suggest sticking with our consumer line for starters. Don't think just because our Mirror Glaze line is our Pro Line that this automatically means the products are better. Several of our Consumer Line products are directly based on the Mirror Glaze line but are much more user friendly on a DA, plus they're less expensive and easier to find in local auto parts stores or even WalMart.

We'd suggest that along with the G110v2 you pick up at least 3 of the W8207 Soft Buff 2.0 yellow polishing pads, 3 of the W9207 Soft Buff 2.0 black finishing pads, some Ultimate Compound, Ultimate Polish, ColorX, NXT Tech Wax 2.0 or Ultimate Wax, and a bunch of microfiber towels. Get started with that and skip the DA Microfiber System for now - ease into this a bit and get a feel for how things work, and how various paint systems respond. If you try to take on too much when just getting started all you're going to do is confuse yourself, and that leads to frustration. Detailing can be hard enough as it is, don't make it harder on yourself if you don't need to.

By all means read through D/A Buffing 101 – An Introduction to the G110v2 and similar tools
          before you start polishing paint.

Re: Can you help me please?

I recommend you get the Griots 6" D/A; lots of power. then get some pads for it: (I use Lake Country)
              1. yellow
              2. 2-orange
              3. 2-white
              4. red

#105 and #205 are great products, but I would recommend the Ultimate line (available at WallyWorld): compound; polish and Wax.
              Apply products thin
              travel the DA s-l-o-w
make sure the pad is turning

Then, do some reading...lots of reading on the various detailing forums so you have a clue what to do.
