Re: Help with first detail/real wash

Having a pure polish isnt critical, esp with a new clear coated car.

It is up to you if you would like to stick with a Cleaner/Wax or ColorX type product for general use, or go with a cleaner/polish like SwirlX or Ult. Polish. Or keep both types on hand.

Either way, all will have the polishing oils in them, so they will get some oils on the paint soon enough in the future anyway.

So I would use UC, then two coats of the NXT (skipping the cleaner wax) on the soiled area. Silly question but would that produce any difference in appearance over clean panels with cleaner wax/NXT on it or is a clean shine a clean shine (outside of minor scratch differences). My paint looks to be in good condition outside of those water spots/scratches (the deep type that product isn't helping).

Should be pretty much the same.

If you use UC or any polishing compound there is really no need to use a cleaner wax since polishing actually resurfaces the paint/clearcoat. Thats how it removes swirls, by resurfacing.
