I have a client that brought me a poorly painted F-150. it is white and who ever did the painting did not mask of very well. There is over spray on nearly every panel, you cant see it but you can definatly feel it. He asked me what i can do, so i took out some Meg. mild clay, lubed an area and ran over it a couple of times. The over spray came off and he was excited, but is this wise to do the whole truck? it was painted 3 weeks ago, i dont believe i can do any polishing afterwards or even apply sealant yet. Should i just recomend he wait awhile to let the paint gas out first?

Re: Clay Baring New Paint
Yes, you can absolutely do it. You can clay the paint, just don't apply any sealant or wax. I have never heard of any ill effects from claying new paint. If you can polish new paint, you can clay it. But, if there is a lot, you may want to look at trying aggressive clay as it will chew through the overspray quicker.Tedrow's Detailing
