  • Renewing old paint

Hello, I have a 2000 Ford Escort ZX2 in midnight blue. Below are some pictures, not of my car, but of one the same color. In the right light, the car almost looks black.

Unfortunately, I am unable to take pictures of the car.

I am looking to "renew" the paint. The paint is fading, I believe the clear coat is failing. The roof looks pretty bad, It has a light blue and chalkiness to it.
I don't have any car care products other than 6 1 dollar microfiber towels, a bone sponge, Turtle Wax polishing compound, 4 year old ArmorAll Wash and Wax, and Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax.
I have washed and waxed the car with Megs UQW.

I have considered purchasing the following...

I am open to suggestions on what I should do to make the fading look better, remove swirls, and hopefully slow down the degradation of the paint. I have never bothered taking much care of a cars paint, so this is new to me.

    Re: Renewing old paint

The paint restoration kit contains all the required prodcuts to restore your paint.

It maybe too late if you already have clear coat failures. However, it still worths a try and it will certainly improve the overall appearance.
