So if I stick to working in 2x2 sections and work this product with a DA a fair amount of time to allow the abrasives to diminish is it safe to say I will get better results then I would with M205 which uses SMAT technology?

        Better can mean different things..

But generally I would side with the #205.

The SMAT basically lets the product remove the "#4 scale defects" in this example, but the abrasives are so small (micro) that they dont leave their own marks behind.

Whereas the DAT abrasives can remove the "#4 scale defects", yet will leave their own marks behind. Then the product breaks down to remove the marks it created.

Keep in mind the scale is general, dont get too tied up in it.

          Very, very well said.

M82 vs M205 can be a bit of a tough call, and in the end it's probably going to come down to the paint itself and how you see things. M205 may do more for the overall clarity of newer factory metallic paints, however.
