  • First Time #16

Just applied #16 for the first time, I probably left it on too long but it was extremely difficult to remove.

I will apply the 2nd coat tomorrow and I will try a section at a time, much like UW.

    Re: First Time #16

Mis3, I tried #16 for the first time a few weeks ago.
No issue with coating the whole car and removing.
    Left it overnight between coats.
I did notice some small brown dots all over the car when I got home from work.
A quick sweep over the car with a mf and all was good.

The trick to #16 is to put it on extremely thin. So thin that you hardly know it is there. It doesn't really matter if you leave it on too long. Do the swipe test to make sure it has hazed over then remove. I always put on at least two coats. Tell us what you think of #16.

Yes, The Key is to apply M16 as a thin layer.

The instruction on #16 is to do a section at a time I will try it tomorrow, much like UW, apply then wipe off after a few minutes. Also, I will apply it very thin.

My car is well maintained with very frequent wash (almost weekly) and wax (every 3-4 weeks). I used #16 because of its durability which I will not know for a few months.

As others have said....apply very thin. I have left it on my car overnight also, and it came off fine.
You will find M16 lasts more than just a few months.

              Re: First Time #16

I applied the 2nd coat on Monday. I divided the car in 4 sections. After I applied the wax of the 2nd section, I would wipe off the wax in the 1st section.
              1. All horizontal panels: hood, roof and trunk.
              2. Left vertical panels
              3. Right vertical panels
              4. Bumpers and wheels

I also applied the wax very thin. I can see why a 2nd coat is required because if applied thinly, you cannot tell if the whole surface is covered.

This time, #16 was much easier to remove. I think to apply thinly is the trick.

You will love the stuff. As for 2 coats, I never do, but that may be that it is easy to see any missed spots on a black car. i

                  Re: First Time #16

I love my M16! It'll usually last the majority of the winter on my stays outside in the elements 24/7 daily drivers. Thin is the way to go as already mentioned. I remember the first time I used it, I thought I was keeping it thin, appearantly not since I dang near broke my arms trying to remove it. If you can just barely see it on your paint then it's on the way it should be. If you cake it on then your arms are gonna hate you for the rest of the week!!
I apply it to the whole car, wait an hour and do the swipe test before removing. It's not an apply and remove product like compounds and polishes are. It's best to let it dry for at least 20-30 minutes before removing.

If you guys want to lay down M16 really thin, try using a 4" finishing pad on a DA.
