  • I'm a bone head....

Since I've had such results with ULW and NXT2.0, a couple months ago when I hit my car with UPW I did msot of the black trim, too... Without checking whether this was a good idea WHICH IT WAS NOT. Since then the car has seen multiple washes, I've tried UQW UQD and even a wash brush and Simple Green to remove the white residue, all without success. Maybe the best results were from the UQD but I suspect thats just from the shine and not because it removed wax residue. Does anybody have suggestions? Maybe a different cleaner than simple green would work better? Do I need to go up to Ult Protectant or Ult black?

I had some wax/polish residue in the window surround plastics of my car.
A squirt with APC+ and some agitation soon got rid of that.

M39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner and either an old toothbrush or a clean terry cloth towel should take care of it.

Amazingly enough, The Mr. Clean Magic Eraser followed by Ultimate Protectant works wonders. I know the magic eraser is a little abrasive. Don`t apply too much pressure when using it on rubber trim and you will be ok.

Well picked up a little spray bottle of the M39 HD Vinyl cleaner today to see what may come of it. Car needs a full wash but the weather doesn't look like it'll cooperate. Anyways did the following proceedure with, shall we say unimpressive results.
          1. Sprayed Trim with M39, Allowed approx 1min to penetrate
          2. Srubbed trim approx 1min with wheel/fender brush
          3. Wiped down with ONR solution and dried
          4. Sprayed M39 1min penetration
          5. Scrubbed with brush 1min
          6. Allowed aditional 1min penetration
          7. Wiped clean with MF towel

First picture is the passenger rocker trim which hasn't been washed in 2 weeks and did not receive the M39 cleansing today. The second picture is AFTER the cleansing today (dirver side). Both were fairly identical before.

So this is what I've tried:
          - Dry buffing
          - Regular car wash
          - Simple Green and wheelbrush
          - UQW
          - UQD
          - ONR and MF Towel (multiple times, actually)
          - M39 and wheelbrush
          - Time (3+ months)

I fear at this point my best recourse is to hope spending the Michigan winter as a daily driver will eventually strip the residue off... Or perhaps IPA wipe.

Try the magic eraser. I have taken things like that off before. Your trim is hard plastic, so you can scrub hard.

              Re: I'm a bone head....

So... Mr Clean magic eraser. Holy **** that worked well.
              1. M39 and brush
              2. car Wash
              3. Magic Eraser
              4. UQD
              5. Aerospace 303

Couple of after pics. Notice the first one, it shows a nice side by side of 303 vs. untreated.

An application of degreaser and a power washer would have worked as well.

                Looks much better now.

Try peanut butter ( smooth) rub it in with a mf in small areas and the oil should break it down
