I noticed on a majority of my MF Towels when using a Quick detailer or Quick wax I see fibers from the towel on my car when under the light. I am washing how it says they should be. On a tumble cycle with mild detergent no fabric softner. And i put it on a cool, light dry. So is this common it happens with my supreme shines and cobra plush. And now i am worried about washing my six brand new ultimate wipe towels. Any suggestions?

Re: Microfiber Towel question...
With my towels (Meguiars, Target, etc), it seems to come and go.... Fine for a while, one time with shedding. Then fine again, then sheds one day. Dont know if that is good or bad, but not a major concern either.
And I probably have 20 or so towels total of different sorts, that I just grab from a stack. Havent seen any holes, etc form either, so not wearing away.2017 Subaru WRX Premium - WR Blue

Re: Microfiber Towel question...
I've noticed the same thing with most of my MF towels (Supreme Shines, Target Vroom, Walmart, etc.). I wash them the same way. I've tried separating the towels and washing like with like to see if one particular kind was to blame, but didn't have any luck.
The only MF towel I've found to be completely lint-free is the Buff and Shine glass cleaning MF, but it's not at all plush, and I would never use it on paint. Best thing out there for glass, though.

Re: Microfiber Towel question...
I have the Megs SS MF towels, Megs Ult wipe MF towels, Eurow 600 gsm & Eurow 350 gsm, a bunch from Walmart, Can Tire....etc, none have ever left lint on my car.
I used to use Sunlight dishsoap to wash my towels, did a good job....but switched to Micro Restore Microfiber detergent. I have never had an issue with any of my MF towels or applicator pads"STRIFE" aka Phil

Re: Microfiber Towel question...
This really does seem to be an odd hit and miss situation. We very rarely see it during an Open Garage Session or a Saturday Class, and I've never noticed it on my personal cars regardless whose towels I'm using. Then again, none of my personal cars are black, and black paint is the only time I've ever seen this happen. Then again, I don't see it on all black vehicles.
Not real helpful, huh? There are so many variables here - types of towels, mixed together in the wash or not, how everyone's washer and dryer actually handle the towels, whether or not different detergents cause an issue, age of towels, etc.Michael Stoops

Re: Microfiber Towel question...
I handwash all my towels & hang to dry.....I would think my process would likely leave more lint on my towels? But seldom ever see much or any lint."STRIFE" aka Phil

Re: Microfiber Towel question...
I too have a black car and struggle with detail sprays leaving the finest micro lint behind. I have literally spent hundreds on various towels to find something that works. I don't quite understand how a plush towel can leave a spotless finish wiping off wax but try to use some detail spray and it's like it somehow instantly degrades the towel.
That said, the ONLY towels that I have purchased that do not ever lint are the Adams waterless wash towels. I think it's because they are a waffle weave type and other similars brands may work too. The only problem with this is the waffle weaves don't give me the same feeling that I am cushioning the dirt particles on the surface, so I have gone to using detail spray only when the dust is no more than a couple days after a wash.2010 Camaro SS RS (black), "OBSSEST"
