Re: Looking for help/advice from the Meguiar's community

The backing plate that comes with the G110v2 is the W68DA and it is designed specifically to work with our Soft Buff 2.0 7" pads. Stick with those for foam and you'll be fine.

As for the DA Microfiber Correction System, we recommend the 5" discs with the G110v2 and those should be used with our W67DA backing plate, not the one that comes with the G110v2. This backing plate is included in the DAMF 5" starter kit, by the way. We do make a 3" MF disc and a backing plate to go with them - the S3BP. Just be aware that the use of this system requires a few tweaks to your technique, all of which are spelled out in detail here.

      Thanks Michael.
I read that thread earlier today, and it helped a lot.
I was hoping to find a 3" kit (bp and pads), but no luck.. looks like they come separate.

I think what will be my best option is to get the 3 pack foam pads for the W68DA (red/yel/blk) and the UC / UP to go with the ULW I already have. I'll also get the MF starter kit (5") that comes as a kit with the W67DA bp.

If you agree, I'll leave the 3" MF pads for another time and just use the hand tool I got to work with those.

Does this sound like a good idea, or am I getting in too deep already?

Re: Looking for help/advice from the Meguiar's community

        Well, I opted as above..
MF starter kit, and after reading the threads about polish/compound, I've decided to go with Ultimate over M series. Hopefully I made the right choices. I got a 3 pack of foam pads in each flavour to try.

So, by next week I'll have a good starter set to test and try and see what I like and what works for me. BTW, also picked up a Bissell Little green. I didn't get the turbo brush model and frankly, I wanted the Pro Heat but I drove too far to pass this one up and took this lower end model anyway. I relisted it on Kijiji and if it sells, I'll pony up for the auto version of this cleaner.

Any advice on how where to start practicing?
