  • Clay bar difference?

So I used up my clay bar to the very end and figured to just replace it. Only thing its I realized that there is really 3 different ones, gray, blue and red. I'm curious as to the difference, is one stronger than the other?

    Re: Clay bar difference?

White - Consumer Clay (Smooth Surface Clay Kit)
    Blue - Professional Mild Clay
    Red - Professional Aggressive Clay

The red clay is more coarse than the blue clay. The red clay will remove bonded contaminants faster than the blue clay but at the expense of marring the finish. I'm not sure how the blue one compares with the white one. It might be similar but I'm not sure.

    Hope this helps.

The mildest - consumer gray clay, medium - detailer's blue, strongest - detailer's red (may cause some marring/ haze).

Gray and blue are the most popular while red aggressive one is rather targeted toward serious heavy and stubborn contamination.

So if you need paint correction using 105 or Ultimate compound then it should not matter which clay you use?

          In that situation it wouldnt.

But usually best not to go in planning to use #105.
