I think the wax just went hydrophobic on itself. Anyways, it finally got warmer where I lived and I gave my car a good washing and claying, but when it came time for the wax, shook the bottle a couple of times, then water got on my foam pad. Is it possible that the wax went hydrophobic on itself over the winter while I wasn't washing and waxing? And is the part that didn't become water still good for use?

It sounds as though the product was damaged due to temperature extremes over time. If you can't shake it back together then it is bad and shouldn't be used. It won't hurt anything if you do use it, but it may not perform up to your expectations.
Our products usually have a shelf life of 3 to 5 years unless they are exposed to temperature extremes for a period of time.Michael Stoops
