Is UC safe for windshield?

Dear MOL members,

Can I safely and effectively apply UC onto windshield to remove oily grime?

Is there any sideeffect?

I dont see any problem for using Ultimate Compound on glass. However I dont see the need for that either.
If you have a really nasty windscreen, I would wash with car wash soap and a bit of APC+ mixed. If that doesnt make your glass squeaky clean, I will try to clay the windscreen with blue clay.

Using a paint cleaner would certainly be for when a strong cleaner is needed, and something is really stuck on the glass.

Yes, it is perfectly safe (with a soft applicator of course). Done it a few times myself when needed. You can also clay, and would likely want a glass cleaner after to remove any of the UC left behind.

I've tried APC+,clay and UC, but in vain

I use an All Wheel/Tire cleaner when my windshield is oily (from Ultimate Detailer) cleans it good (when washing car)

I used my DA with UC, and a polish pad and removed water marks on my 2003 MPV windows without issues.....I tried swirlX first, didn't remove the marks.
Btw...how did you get "oily" stuff on your windshields?

if you really have some oily stuff on your glass and nth else work, go get urself a bottle of thinner. people here in HK use it to clean up real nasty glass. handle it with extra care and dont let it get on ur paint tho.

From one rainy day ,I found it oily and my windscreen is not squeaky any more

Actually, I'm not sure how I got it

perhaps,my VW golf VI Gti is usaully exposed to outdoor environment

Which pad is effective in application?

I get LC white pad with 7424XP,but in vain.

I used my Griot's Garage 3" orange polish pad, 1st with swirlX, then UC ...worked great.
My MPV & G35 are both garage kept so it's protected from the elements....

Does anyine notice that the section applied with UC tends be easy to gather water?

the windscreen is smooth but no squeaky feeling at all
