Sunroof visor question before install

I know sunroof visors looks ugly to most people, but I enjoy the look of it.

Anyways, I heard a lot of stories about sunroof visor rubber mounts scratches (see image below) into the paint and clear coat after time.. My question is if I put on a 3m clear bra would it protect it from scratching the paint and eating into the clear coat?
