  • Delay from Polish to Wax?

    Hi everyone,

Today I just Washed, Clayed, Compounded, and Polished a car, but was unable to wax because I ran out of sunlight.

I have nowhere to store it so it's sitting outside tonight.

Because of this, will I have to repolish again. Or how will I be able to prep the surface if anything gets on it at night?

You will not have to polish it again. Personally I would wash the car because putting the wax on.

Do you plan on continuing with the wax tomorrow?

If so, and it didn't get too dirty overnight, I would just QD the car clean, then continue on with the waxing.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.

I'm going to cover it with some blankets.

All you have to do is make sure the paint is clean before waxing or polishing. This can easily be done by using UQD or UWWA. I wouldn't bother with the blankets.

Covering up with blankets may not be a good idea.
Just wash the car before the wax.....

Thanks everyone again for all the help! Hoping that in the near future I'd be at a spot that I could help others also.

If you did all that prep and now the car just has to sit outside overnight (assuming it doesn't rain really hard, you don't have a major dust storm, or anything else major happening) you should be perfectly fine with just a quick detailer wipe down prior to waxing.

Some final inspection will do good too.
