Hello, I'm curious about the g110v2 place for whole car correction. I recently got a car fully repainted. I got what I paid for. The clear is 3 coats on top of black base and the bodywork is fantastic. BUT the entire car is orange peeled. Is the g110v2 the proper tool to remove wet sanding scratches and bring up the finish on an entire car? Or should I be using a rotary with 105 & 205? Is the microfiber correction system an option for this task? Thanks in advance!

Re: G110 and Microfiber correction system abilities
Using a rotary, M105 and a wool pad is the proper combination to remove 1500 wetsanding marks. But you have to follow up these steps with a finishing polish/pad such as M205 with a black finishing pad. Another option is to follow up your wetsanding with 2500 grit and 3000 grit to make it smoother then use the DA microfiber system to clear it up. So to answer your question, it depends what your last wetsanding step is.

Re: G110 and Microfiber correction system abilities
EDIT. "read yor reply too fast, guess you already answered whether I should be using a rotary"Thanks for the reply. If sanding up to 3000 makes for a better finish I will do it but it may be alot of extra work just so I can use the microfiber system??? If using wool and finishing pad with the compound/ polishing combination you mentioned is the g110v2 a viable option for doing the whole car or should a rotary and same pads/ compounds make lighter work of it?
Are DA's okay for fresh paint? I've read a couple random statements saying they shouldn't be used on fresh paint??

Re: G110 and Microfiber correction system abilities
A rotary is needed to use wool/M105 to remove sanding marks. You can use a G110v2 with a finishing pad/M205 to finish your paint off Another thing to note regarding the difference of using M105/Wool and 3000Grit/D300 is that the 3000Grit/D300 will remove less material as opposed to using wool/M105. It's in the article I linked.
D/A's are definitely ok for fresh paint. What's not ok for fresh paint is using wax. You need to let your paint breathe or air out before you can apply any waxes/sealants on. What did your painter say? Usually if the paint is baked then you don't need to wait. Consult with your painter about this information.2011 Car Crazy Showcase SEMA Team

Re: G110 and Microfiber correction system abilities
Thanks again. Painter is well.... okay. His truck looks better than my car and his paint is 5 years old. He does very good body work but his spraying abilities are tested when doing a whole car. I've seen many of his single panel repaints that look better than the finish on my car. I'm not knocking him, I know I got what I paid for. Price was very reasonable and 1/3 the cost of what a "friend" wanted to do the same job. He does not have a bake oven and when I mentioned wetsanding and buffing he didn't say anything about not doing it. He said the sooner the better, but didn't show much interest in taking my money to wetsand and buff it for me. I will continue to use his shop for collision repair but I am going to tackle the paint correction myself. I've already tried a test spot and half the trunk lid with a crappy da and ultimate compound. First sanded at 1500, then 2000, then 2500. Still took alot of effort to get the finish I need. So that is why I am in the market for either a rotary and some abrasive compounds or the DAMF correction system. More questions to follow. Thanks for your help.

The MF systerm rocks and can rivel a wool pad.
The MF system might be what you need and ypu might need a wool pad to. All paint is different and you have to find the right products and tools to fux the paint. There is never goi.g ti a straight answer just a starting piont.
There was just 1 product and 1 tool to do every job I come across. But that's never the case. Detailing us an art form Nd you have to learn how to do it correctly.

Hey MOL, I just pulled the trigger. As stated above I am dealing with a new black bc/cc covered in orange peel. I just bought items below: (I know I spent about as much to have car professionally corrected but I prefer to do it myself, maybe I saved a few bucks and hopefully will end up with a better finish than hiring someone)

I understand not all of the above may be needed but I wanted to cover all my bases. I will start with the least abrasive first, and work down, maybe the 3000 unigrit damp sanding to see if it knocks the peel down. If I fail miserably I'll have plenty of Meguiars product for sale cheap!!!
Pictures of car and test spots coming soon.$22.75
