I got the g110v2 on the way but saw the power pack @the autozone & couldn't resist. Gotta say I love it I did a quick test with 205 & im using a Milwaukee drill capable of 2800 rpm. I love this thing and if this is any indication of the full size da I can't wait. Even this drill tool blew away the cheap harbor freight da I bought , amazing.

Lol yeah I bought the harbor freight just to get me through and to not do anything by hand lol I have complete faith in the Meguiars da especially now after using the power pack.

The DAPS is really a cool tool, and we think you'll find it a great addition to your new G110v2. A pillars, tops of bumpers and other small areas are really easy to deal with when using the DAPS. Odds are you'll have both tools out and ready whenever you detail any car.

Thanks Micheal. That is how I plan to use them paired up. P.s. got the g110v2 today all I did is the hood of my car with uc, 205 & uw.. one word WOW. IT makes all the difference to have a quality tool. When I had the harbor freight da i tried to make the best of it but it would spew oil all over the vehichle and myself everytime so less time correcting paint & more time cleaning up mess. Finally I can concentrate on creating show room shine. Thanks Meguiars.

In an earlier post on another thread, Michael stated "Compared to working by hand, the DA Power System is faster, less tiring, and can yield a better result overall on harder paint systems." I have a new 2013 Lexus RX350 and my understanding is that it, and perhaps all Lexus cars, have pretty soft paint. Is the DA Power System "safe" for a newbie to use on soft Lexus paint or should I play it safe and does everything by hand?

If the DAPS is afe for me to use, what maximum rpm drill should I use? Variable speed? Brand?

Larry, we just responded to most of your question in another thread (yes, you're totally safe to use a buffer on your Lexus). As for drill selection, your best bet is to stay with a corded drill rather than cordless, and stick with a quality name brand. We recommend a drill that spins at least 1500 rpm, but 2500 rpm is better. The DA Power System tool has a gear reduction in it so you won't be spinning the pad that fast against the paint, and since it's a forced rotation (offset so the pad oscillates) rather than direct drive, even more safety is built in to it. The only major caution is to not do something really crazy, like apply really heavy pressure to a painted urethane bumper cover for an extended period of time in one spot while using the burgundy cutting pad. That could generate enough heat to get you in trouble. But you'd have to lean on the thing and hold it still for a few minutes to get you to that point. A little common sense should tell anyone that's probably not a great idea. As always, if in doubt, just put your bare hand on the spot you just buffed; if it's getting really hot to the touch you need to rethink how you're using the tool, but if it's just a bit warm there's no problem.

We present the above caution not to scare anyone off, but to make sure everyone is thinking and using a bit of common sense when doing any sort of defect correction on paint. We've seen plenty of people rub right through their clear coat by hand because they're scrubbing in one tiny area for a long time. All too often you read on detailing forums that "it's impossible to damage your paint with a DA buffer", but the reality is that anything is possible. With a rotary buffer in the hands of a total novice, paint damage is almost a given. But a full sized DA or the DAPS? While still possible, you have to try pretty hard to mess up and even then it's rare.
