Leather cleaner/conditioner

I just purchased a one year old car and the car is really clean. However, it does have a leather wrapped dash and I have read where some products cause the adhevisness of the leather to lift. What is a good product you've used to condition the leather and provide some UV protection. seems like every company under the sun claims extraordinary results!!!! Please help, Thanks In Advance!

Well, we tend to go Meguiars around here...

The Gold Class Leather Cleaner/Conditioner is always good for general use.

The new leather protectant is a much more durable coating, but have not tried that yet.

Read somewhere where you shouldn't use both a cleaner and conditioner in one product. One cleaner, then one for conditioning. Don't know just how reliable that advise is, but wanted to ask. Any opinion on that? Thanks,

You tend to lose a little from each 'step' if you combine them, same as a cleaner/wax, or all purpose cleaner vs a tar remover.

I believe the new Gold Class Sealer kit has a cleaner and then the sealer in it.

There are also individual step products Meguiars makes, the Gold Class Cleaner and Gold Class Conditioner, if you preferred those.

The Gold Class Rich Leather Cleaner/Conditioner is good for one-step regular maintenance. Please also consider Quik Interior Detailer, which can be applied to other interior surface, good for regular maintenance.

^ good point, it amazing soo many people do not think of regular maintenance using a quik int detailer spray.
All my friends always comment on how my interior looks brand new

The QID is great for regular dusting of interiors. Just wont have anything very protective in it for seats, at least ones that are sat on.

The product that ruins leather is Silicone, and alot of products have this in it even a small amount will ruin leather.
So, myself, I wouldn't use anything but a damp towel and a little leather cleaner to clean any leather.
Once you start using things "not made for leather" you risk serious irreversible damage.
For a dash I would defiantly use the new Leather Sealer System, due to the fact your dash is subjected to extremely high temperatures, around 130 degree's if I'm not mistaken.
and on that note get a SUN SHIELD and tint your windshield, asap.

The new LSS has UV protection and is a polymer sealant that should make you dash last for year and be the envy of others with "your car", btw, what kind of car is it?
If your not into the LSS then I can recommend Optimum Leather protectant. It's a very clean product and does a great job on Ferrari's, Bentley and Bugatti's.
