For Maintaining 4 midsize cars in my family, the total came to $178.00. That would come out to under $50 per car a yr..

The reason for this is I'm constantly experimenting and i don't restrict my activity to brand name.
To rephrase if I could find products that worked as well as the new meguiars waterless wash (in its capacity)id stick with the product .
Another issue for me is as I am a newb hobbyist I am drawn to products that specifically mention my issue in there product description e.g. I am more drawn to a product that says chrome trim or chromed plastic than one that just said chrome cleaner.
I also have a hell of time discerning what material things are made of(my current moose in the headlights is the mullion between windows of glass - Ford edge - 2013) which looks like plastic but does not respond to plastic polish or cleaners.
The edge seems to be a smorgasbord of pontialy improvable surfaces hence a billion experimental products the leather vinyl plastic rubber combo's on the interior are themselfs bewildering - this forum has help with one product solutions while I figure out optimizing all the little bits.

I think the numbers in the poll need to be adjusted up significantly especially for a detailing enthusiast website.
I am at least at $800 for the year already. To think I had a spray detailer, towels, and autoglym polish and wax only previous to my 101 class 8 months ago.
I now own 2 DAs (rupes 21 and megs g110v2), at least a dozen waxes, and plenty of compounds, polishes, glazes, sealants...
I had no clue what these items were before the 101 class.

$1,593.52, 377 cars, $4.23 per car last year
Wow, I don't think I've actually sat down and figured that out before, and that's the most I've spent on product since I started doing this. Dang I love my job, profit margins simply can't be beat

Hobbyist here. Use Meguiar's products 95%. I use various types of pads and soft top cleaners and UV products. I spend almost as much on pads as I do product. I am not the only person using the materials as some people in the car club like to learn and DIY their car, hence the reason I go through so many pads ( learning means they do not always turn on and off the buffer while on the car and the pads go a flying ) must need a better instructor or at least one that watches 101% of the time. I enjoy sharing knowledge and making the best products available to car enthusiasts. I also enjoy trying different processes and materials ( I have a silver car and am searching for a process that makes silver pop ( like a car of color ) still searching for that, but I have fun doing the research. If I ever figure it out I'll be wealthy. LOLBMW ZSCCA Area Rep SoCal
