  • removing tree sap?

Does anyone have a straight forward to remove tree sap? Mine has been sitting on the roof of my 2012 fusion over the winter. Didn't realize it was there until I was it today.

Try clay. This is how I remove sap from my car.

If not, I read here that isopropyl alcohol can remove stubborn sap.

+1 on the clay. I had a very similar sticky tree sap experience, felt weird at first, tried using kerosene at first, it didn't budge to my frustration. Tried claying it, wow... It was removed almost instantly, Ok, I used Mothers Clay kit not Meguiars, but brand aside, claying will work.

While you're at it, why not clay the entire roof of your car, use a paint cleaner after to remove any remaining residue then polish (optional) and rewax?

Give turpentine a go. It's like using a 'like' to remove 'like'.
