  • Hail!

I was stuck in a hail storm yesterday. I've never experienced anything like it before. It was marble sized and very loud, especially on the roof. I have one minor dent on the hood, which is aluminum I think. It looks like something the Dent Doctor can fix. I consider myself very fortunate that I only have one dent!

Cars were pulling off the road the hail was so bad. Some of them even had broken windows! The visibility was good enough so I figured I would keep on driving and maybe drive out of it, which in fact did happen. So the decision to drive on may have minimized the damage.

There was golf ball-sized hail nearby which I managed to avoid so I think someone was watching over me.

The National Weather Service said that the marble-sized hail that fell is enough to chip the paint on cars. I see no signs of that so far, even where the dent is. My question is: Since I see no signs of paint damage now, does that mean I escaped with just one dent? Or has the clear coat possibly been fractured, and will I see more and more paint chipping as the weeks and months go by?

So any of you paint experts out there, will I escape major paint damage or not?

    Thanks for any feedback.

    Hail Storms

My car was in a hail storm 2yrs ago and the local Chevy dealer did a horrible job!! Hope I never have to go through that again. Your lucky you just got 1 dent...I had broken windows and dents all around; to say 40 dents is too few =\ I'm no paint expert but best of luck
