Yes you could. I think M85 is designed to be used with a rotary so don't be surprised if it doesn't work.

Here are succeeding steps I would highly suggest you do to help remove your sanding marks:
    1. Further sand with 3000 grit (since you are already sanding your car but sanding is a very advanced process)
    2. Compound with the DA microfiber system (D300/Microfiber Cutting Disc). If more cutting ability is required try using M105/M101 with the MF cutting disc.

That should make it easier for your G110 to be able to handle the job. But since you started with 1200 grit, I'm just not sure if the G110 can handle it.

Here's a good article on removing sanding marks (but this is for 3000 grit):

If you don't have the MF cutting discs, I would use M105 with the W7207 (assuming you have this pad per your initial post). Then finish it with M205 using W8207/9207. I say either for M205 because it will highly depend on the amount of hazing you might get from W7207.

Generally, W7207 Burgundy pads aren't recommended for use with the D/A because of potential hazing but I'm recommending this now because you're trying to remove sanding marks.

But I would try to finish it first with 3000 grit sand paper. 2000/2500 will also work. They will make your life a lot easier.
