  • Yellowish stains appeared on paint after waxing my car

    Hi,

I took my car for a day at the spa and they offered me a variety of meguiars products to use, the car was looking nice and water would slide from the paint until a took a closer look and notices these weird yellowish stains around my car, scattered randomly. I ask the guy and he said something about the clear coat that they put on the paint was not there anymore on those areas and that the detailing made that show up.

Anyways I think they use some kind of clay and wax, are there any recommendations to how to proceed to remove these stains? They guy tried using a waterless spray and some did came off but not all. Is my car paint damaged already?

I hope I can get some help from experienced folks around here,

    Thanks

PD. Car is a honda civic coupe white

That staining looks a bit odd, no doubt, and the fact that any of it (or one like it) would come off with just a spray of some sort tells us that these shouldn't be a big problem. If you were missing clear coat in these areas you sure as heck couldn't fix it with a spray bottle of product. Can you feel these spots at all? Do they feel rough, or maybe even slicker than the rest of the paint? Any idea what the spray was that he used? How much of the spot was removed or diminished in appearance when he used it?

Do you have anything on hand like a cleaner wax, ScratchX 2.0 or anything at all similar that you could lightly apply to the areas and see if it removes the staining?

You cannot feel the spots that well but they sure feel slicker than the rest of the paint. The spray that he used was probably homemade because the bottle was not labeled I'm pretty sure it might be bad for the paint. When he used the product some stains were removed almost completely but some of them didn't. I do not have any products available to try to remove the stains but for sure I will try anything that you can recommend. I washed the car with regular shampoo and didnt work.

I will try to get the scratchx 2.0, the spots have a very well defined contour like if something that they use got deposited within that barrier between the spot and the surrounding area.

Hopefully just some oil they dripped or something.

I might look for Ult. Compound, if you are going to do any of your own detailing in the future. It is similar to ScratchX , but better price if using more in the future.

I'd try claying it first. Failing that, yeah, try some UC.

We can go out for a drive without her makeup and she looks fine. If I want to take the black one out, it is three or four hours in the "bathroom" to get ready.
